The 8600 ‘s are 8642PVRs refurbished to be a regular HD box. The other regular HD box, is the 4642. Both of them, are a little underpowered.. and can be quite slow. Comparatively, the 4k box, and the nextbox 3 (the 9865) are both MUCH faster overall in terms of response times, etc. There really hasnt been much movement on those boxes..

9/16/2017 · Exchanged old box for Nextbox Explorer 8600HD – No picture through HDMI, but through channel 3 cable … the 8600 is the biggest POS I’ve ever had to deal with and statistically speaking, is faulty. Call the store you got it from, ask if they have a 4642 or better yet a 10242. Then go and swap it.
